Book an appointment

GP appointments will be provided after your medical request has been triaged by a clinician. Some issues with require a same day appointment whilst other will require a routine appointment. Routine appointments are offered if your medical issue is not urgent or for any issues that cannot be dealt with by your local pharmacy, see list above.

Routine appointments are booked up to 2 weeks in advance for a GP for new issues or up to 4 weeks in advance if you have been asked to come back to see a GP after an initial consultation.

Appointments can either be in person or via a telephone call, this can be decided by you unless the GP deems an in person appointment necessary.

Nursing appointments can be booked up to 8 weeks in advance.

Please remember - standard appointments are for 10 minutes; the doctor or nurse will not be able to deal with multiple problems in a single appointment. Please let the receptionist know when you book the appointment if you think you may need a longer appointment. Situations where you will always need a longer appointment are:

  • For cervical smear screening
  • For an annual review for something like asthma, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, mental health
  • Where an interpreter is needed

If you would like to book an appointment at the practice please submit your query online.

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Change or Cancel an Appointment

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.

Ways to cancel

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.

If you are cancelling please telephone us on 020 8780 5650 as soon as possible, and at least 30 minutes before your appointment time. This will enable us to offer your appointment to someone else.

Alternatively you can cancel your appointment online using our online services or the NHS App if you are signed up to the service.

Please remember that there may be a shortage of appointments and when you fail to attend you have prevented someone else from being seen in your place. On average about 230 appointments are missed each month.

Cancellations notified less than 30 minutes before the appointment time will be recorded as failure to attend (DNA).

Repeated failure to attend booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resource.
